Hi, I’m Simon. Host of The Halftime Orange, Witney Radio’s new football show on Thursday’s from 7-8. I did a post grad in journalism at Leeds Uni and worked for BBC local stations in the North of England as well as big commercial stations. I’m loving being at the station, as it combines two of my favourite things… football and radio.
I was born and bred in York, but unlike many ‘Yorkies’ I’m not a supporter of Leeds, I took after my dad (a scouser) and follow the Mighty LFC! So, understandably I’m loving the beautiful game at the moment 😉 . Although I’m a northerner, I’ve lived all over including Leicester, Brighton, and even Italy, but finally settled in West Oxfordshire last year. I live with my beautiful wife (and our lovely French Bulldog), and have never looked back. I love the nature, the people and the great country pubs that the region has to offer.
Other than the radio I like listening to podcasts, playing football (come on Aston FC), walking the dog, sitting in a nice Cotswolds pub and enjoying a nice glass of red in front of an open fire, and generally relaxing. I love being a part of the Witney Radio family, and hope you like what we do #thehalftimeorange
