Guest Ballroom Event – Natural Materials Into Paint and Inks with Fiona McIntyre

Experienced artist Fiona McIntyre is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and works with natural materials in her work. In this exciting workshop, she will guide you through the ancient methods of mulling pigment with gum Arabic on a glass slab and the alchemy of its transformation into watercolour paint. In the afternoon you will be guided through a second workshop on the tried and tested methods of making natural inks from whichever materials are available such as oak galls, walnuts, berries and saffron to name a few.

Paper and specialist materials are supplied but you should bring your favourite brushes for ink and watercolour, an apron, rubber gloves and be prepared to get messy.

Lunch is not included so please bring a packed lunch, but teas and coffees will be provided.
